A rich cup with a story. SAZA COFFEE created Shogun Coffee using historical accounts of the coffee served when Tokugawa Yoshinobu, Japan’s final shogun, welcomed Western envoys in the late Edo period. This is one 200 g bag of whole-bean coffee.
Why You'll Love It
- A French-roast blend of coffee beans from Indonesia and Ethiopia—not a single-origin coffee.
- Full-bodied and richly aromatic, with a velvety, wine-like texture and fine, lasting sweetness.
- Low perceived acidity and a deep finish; especially pleasing with milk.
- Grind the whole beans just before brewing to suit your preferred method.
A Blend Rooted in History
SAZA COFFEE developed this modern interpretation from records of coffee culture in the shogun’s era. Its dark roast brings a classic French-style richness to your daily cup.
How to Enjoy
Brew with water around 80–85°C, as recommended by SAZA COFFEE. Enjoy black for its depth, or add milk for a smooth café au lait.
